RT100-EC

RT100 electronics application

The RT100-EC LIBS system is a versatile, economical elemental analyzer based on a multi-channel CCD based spectrometer. The system offers many attractive features normally found only in higher-end LIBS instruments that cost substantially more than the RT100-EC. These features include:

  • A broadband spectral coverage from 198 nm to 1005 nm
  • Auto laser focusing and sample height adjustment
  • Sample discrimination analysis capability with ASI’s chemometric software package -- ideal for forensic and hazardous material detection applications
  • Compact packaging

The RT100-EC is an ideal LIBS instrument for individuals beginning LIBS research with a limited budget. And, with available hardware upgrades, the system can handle more demanding LIBS research and industrial applications that require increased accuracy and precision.

RT100-EC LIBS model

An integrated laser ablation system

The RT100-EC LIBS system uses an Nd:YAG laser for ablating samples. The laser wavelength is carefully chosen to provide the best analytical results for each customer’s unique application.

Optimized plasma light collection

The RT100-EC incorporates a unique design that efficiently collects light emitted from the LIBS plasma. This capability is crucial for achieving highly accurate and repeatable test results.

Designed for flexible sampling protocols

The RT100-EC houses 3D (X- Y- Z) translational stage. Operators can specify various spatial sampling patterns for a highly automated LIBS measurement experience.

ASI hardware technology enhances data precision

One of the critical system requirements for achieving improved LIBS data precision is a consistent laser focus to the sample surface. With patent-pending ASI hardware technology, our customers are assured that their LIBS measurements are accurate and repeatable.

Multi-channel CCD-based spectrometer

The RT100-EC incorporates a multi-channel CCD-based spectrometer that provides spectral coverage from 198nm to 1005nm. Thus, LIBS spectra ranging from UV to NIR spectral region can be captured with a single laser shot. Independent integration delay control allows users to optimize for the best signal-to-noise and signal-to-contiuum ratio of LIBS spectra.

ASI chemometric software package

ASI’s proprietary chemometric software utilizes a set of highly sophisticated statistical algorithms to add material discrimination capability to our LIBS instruments. Proven through extensive testing of a wide range of materials with different interferents, ASI’s chemometric software package adds another level of analytical capability for our customers.

Calibration standards development

LIBS is a versatile analytical technique and, with the proper sampling methodologies, LIBS can accurately quantify many elements accurately down to the ppm level. As with many quantitative analytical techniques, the availability of appropriate calibration standards ensures measurement accuracy. With our scientific team's 80-plus years of combined laser ablation knowledge, ASI is well suited to develop such calibration standards and to recommend the optimal laser and detection parameters for your LIBS analysis. No other LIBS equipment manufacturer can offer this level of technical knowledge and application support.

RT100 operation

Software control

All our RT100 series systems come with powerful software, Axiom, together with our TruLIBS database. Axiom feature a simple, intuitive graphical interface that allows multiple users to operate the system software with different access privileges. Thus, the same RT100-HP can be used by production line operators to simply run a prepared measurement recipe for routine quality control work, or by the laboratory scientists to perform cutting-edge elemental research.
