RT100-HP

RT100 lab application

The RT100-HP is ASI's flagship LIBS system. It is designed specifically to handle the most demanding trace element analyses — those requiring high sensitivity and accuracy. With a single-digit ppm level detection limit for many elements in the periodic table, the RT100-HP is an ideal LIBS system for challenging quantitative elemental analysis with many sample matrices.

The RT100-HP LIBS system is well suited for both laboratory analysis and production monitoring applications. The system is capable of monitoring single or multiple elements of analytical interest. With several hardware upgrade options available, the RT100-HP is configurable to provide different laser ablation environments, thus allowing our customers to perform highly innovative LIBS research. The RT100-HP's robust system design ensures repeatable measurement results with every laser pulse.

RT100-HP model

An integrated laser ablation system

The RT100-HP LIBS systems use an Nd:YAG laser for ablating samples. The laser wavelength is carefully chosen to provide the best analytical results for each customer’s unique application.

Optimized plasma light collection

The RT100-HP incorporates a unique light collection optics design that couples the maximum amount of the plasma light to the system detector module. This feature enables the highest possible sensitivity performance.

ASI technology ensures accuracy and repeatability

One of the critical system requirements for achieving improved LIBS data precision is a consistent laser focus to the sample surface. With patent-pending ASI hardware technology, our customers are assured that their LIBS measurements are accurate and repeatable.

High performance ICCD detector

The RT100-HP incorporates an ICCD-coupled spectrograph to reduce background interference and enhance detection sensitivity. The system also uses a dual grating turret specifically selected to optimize both the spectral resolution and range for different sample matrices. The independent ICCD camera control allows the user to specify detection parameters such as gate delay, gate width and signal gain, thus achieving superior signal-to-noise and signal-to-continuum performance.

ASI chemometric software package

ASI’s proprietary chemometric software utilizes a set of highly sophisticated statistical algorithms to add material discrimination capability to our LIBS instruments. Proven through extensive testing of a wide range of materials with different interferents, ASI’s chemometrics software package adds another level of analytical capability for our customers.

Calibration standards development

LIBS is a versatile analytical technique and, with the proper sampling methodologies, LIBS can accurately quantify many elements accurately down to the ppm level. As with many quantitative analytical techniques, the availability of appropriate calibration standards ensures measurement accuracy. With our scientific team's extensive laser ablation expertise, we stand ready to develop such calibration standards and to recommend the optimal laser and detection parameters for your LIBS analysis. No other LIBS equipment manufacturer can offer this level of technical knowledge and application support.

RT100 operation

Software control

All our RT100 series systems come with powerful software, Axiom, together with our TruLIBS database. Axiom feature a simple, intuitive graphical interface that allows multiple users to operate the system software with different access privileges. Thus, the same RT100-HP can be used by production line operators to simply run a prepared measurement recipe for routine quality control work, or by the laboratory scientists to perform cutting-edge elemental research.
