J200 Tandem LA-LIBS

Maximum chemical information from photons and ions — combine the complementary strengths of LIBS and LA-ICP-MS in one powerful analytical platform.

Applied Spectra J200 Tandem LA-LIBS instrument

Overview

More chemical information from a single platform

J200 Tandem LA-LIBS is Applied Spectra’s patented analytical technology combining LIBS and laser ablation ICP-MS to extract more chemical information from a single platform. The system can operate independently as a LIBS or LA-ICP-MS instrument, or simultaneously in Tandem mode to capture complementary photon and ion signals from the same laser sampling event.

By combining the high-sensitivity trace and isotopic capabilities of ICP-MS with LIBS analysis of major, light, and other challenging elements, J200 Tandem LA-LIBS provides broad elemental coverage across an exceptionally wide concentration range — from trace constituents to major elements.

One Platform

More analytical capability, designed for speed and sensitivity

J200 Tandem LA-LIBS provides the capabilities of both J200 LIBS and J200 LA, plus simultaneous Tandem analysis — adding substantial analytical capability without the cost and complexity of separate analytical platforms. Users gain greater flexibility and access to richer chemical information from a single integrated system.

The Vertex THP cell is engineered specifically for Tandem analysis. Rapid washout supports high-speed LA-ICP-MS sampling, while optimized plasma light collection enables sensitive LIBS measurements — delivering speed and analytical performance in independent LIBS, LA-ICP-MS, or simultaneous Tandem modes.
